A great spiritual leader, Dr. Ernest Holmes, must have sensed well beyond his day the mounting difficulties humanity would face, when he shared these thoughts:
The world is undergoing the death throes of an old order and the travail of a new birth, and whether or not it remains suspended in a state of indeterminate coma or passes immediately into the heaven of divine promise, will depend entirely upon how many of its ancient corpses it is willing to lose.
Our “ancient corpses,” are usually antiquated and detrimental belief systems that reinforce negligent, divisive, uncaring or wasteful behaviors at the personal and collective levels. It’s time to stand for more compassionate, effective and visionary mindstyles and lifestyles, making sure our own lives mirror the changes we seek.
If we are courageous enough to do this, we will add momentum to the flow of change and a glorious future awaits us. Dr. Holmes also sensed this positive possibility, for he completed his thoughts quoted above with this reassurance:
It is as certain as that the laws of nature are immutable, that someday this transition will take place, someday the world will be reborn, resurrected into a consciousness of unity, cooperation, love and collective security.
Together, let’s make his “someday” today!
