When a boy was about 6 years old, a band of Gypsies came to his Polish village. He was in awe of these spirited people—especially a red-bearded, robust giant of a man. This man was hauling water up from a well. As he drank it, the water streamed down the sides of his mouth. Then he put the bucket aside, wiped his face, and gazed into the well for the longest time. The boy’s curiosity got the best of him, so he asked the Gypsy what he was staring at. The man proclaimed, “God lives in the well!” He scooped up the boy and held him so he could look down into the well, but all he could see was his own reflection. “There’s no God down there. It’s just me down there,” the boy announced. “Ah,” replied the gypsy, “now you know where God is.”
A New Thought spirituality of awakening blesses us with the life-changing realization that every person is an incarnation of Spirit, an emanation of God-Life. When we embrace this spiritual experience, it opens us to an inner call—a call to greatness.
Greatness is not about living up to people’s or the world’s expectations. Greatness is expressing your inner wholeness. It is discovering and empowering the dream woven into your soul. It is reclaiming your happiness and honoring your unique gifts. Greatness is awakening, caring, serving—and much, much more.
Let us position ourselves to be clearer and more glorious reflections of the Love and Light of Divine Life.
